This unique McKay Deep South guitar came to us from the collection of Jazz artist Dekel Bor (4 Grammy Award nominations).
Dekel is an avid fan and collaborator of Ken McKay guitars, and has worked with Ken on the Deep South model. He played this guitar on numerous recordings.
The offered guitar is prototype #3, It has a Maple neck, Alder body, Bbony board, Tone Specific Pickups, Kluson hardware. It is truly a unique guitar, style and tonality wise. We love the tiger stripes on the neck and the cut-non-cut concept. It plays well, with medium low action and a neck that lets you play fast, bend notes and bring out even more complex chords easily. It sounds to us like a combination of an LP and a Tele. Deep tone, dry, tons of sustain, somewhat a tiny bit hollow and twangy. Hard to explain. In short - it sounds really great and unique.
